ElectraDx is an innovative startup developing affordable, user-friendly diagnostic platforms for community and home use. Their products deliver rapid, precise, and actionable test results that improve health outcomes.
We are now seeking an R&D Scientist to help design, optimise, and validate the next generation of ElectraDX’s diagnostic technologies. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the interface of science and product development, contributing directly to the creation of impactful IVD solutions.
The Role
As an R&D Scientist, you will:
Design, execute, and analyse experiments supporting diagnostic assay development
Optimise assay performance through iterative testing and troubleshooting
Implement laboratory and testing protocols in line with ISO 13485 and regulatory requirements
Document experimental procedures, data, and conclusions with accuracy and scientific rigour
Participate in risk assessments and contribute to validation activities
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and product teams to support product development from concept to verification
Prepare technical summaries, reports, and data packages for internal and external stakeholders
Stay current with scientific literature and emerging technologies relevant to assay development
Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory workflows, processes, and documentation
About You
We’re seeking someone with:
A Master’s degree, or a Bachelor’s with 2+ years’ industry experience, in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline or a PHD.
Hands-on experience with laboratory techniques relevant to diagnostic assay development such as Eliza, Western Blotting, Immunoassays etc.
Understanding of experimental design, data handling, and statistical interpretation
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot assays and technical issues
High attention to detail and excellent documentation practices
Ability to follow complex procedures while contributing constructive improvements
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
