Deep ServiceNow Platform Expertise and Certifications: This includes a comprehensive understanding of the entire ServiceNow architecture, the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), and multiple modules (ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, etc.). The ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) certification is often mandatory for this role.
Integration and Technical Skills: Proficiency in developing and managing integrations with external systems using various technologies like JavaScript, REST/SOAP APIs, Integration Hub, and Flow Designer is crucial.
Strategic Thinking and Business Acumen: The ability to align the technical roadmap and platform capabilities with overarching business objectives and translate complex business needs into effective, scalable technical solutions is essential.
Governance and Best Practices: Expertise in defining and enforcing architecture principles, design standards, quality assurance, and best practices across all development and implementation activities to ensure security, scalability, and performance.
Leadership and Communication: Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and mentoring skills are required to lead technical teams, conduct workshops, communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences, and drive change management.
Roles and Responsibilities
Own the Overall Architecture Strategy: Define and maintain the enterprise architecture vision and roadmap for the ServiceNow platform, ensuring it is scalable, performant, and maintainable.
Design and Architect Solutions: Lead the end-to-end design of complex, multi-workstream solutions, creating detailed technical blueprints and ensuring they align with business requirements and IT standards.
Provide Technical Leadership and Mentorship: Guide implementation teams on architectural patterns, coding standards, and best practices, and mentor junior developers and architects.
Ensure Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce technical governance frameworks, conduct architecture reviews, and ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, and data privacy requirements.
Drive Innovation and Optimization: Stay current with the latest ServiceNow features (including AI and hyperautomation capabilities) and industry trends, recommending enhancements and leading performance optimization initiatives.
