About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Distinguished Machine Learning Engineer to join our remote team at Capital One Software. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the development and deployment of advanced machine learning models and infrastructure, shaping the future of data-driven solutions within the organization. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with product, engineering, and design leaders to address complex business challenges, promote technological excellence, and foster a culture of innovation. Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
At least 7 years of experience in Software Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Machine Learning Systems and Infrastructure
Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, and SQL
Extensive experience deploying machine learning models in production environments
Knowledge of large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation
Experience with data streaming and orchestration tools such as Kafka, Airflow, Spark, AWS Glue/Kinesis
Hands-on experience with Databricks or Snowflake
Familiarity with LLM Ops tooling, model versioning, deployment, cost optimization, and latency reduction
Responsibilities
Build awareness and promote the adoption of modern technologies, clearly communicating their benefits to stakeholders
Collaborate with teams to solve complex business problems, delivering solutions that impact customers and internal operations
Balance technical expertise with fostering an inclusive environment where diverse ideas are valued and championed
Drive engineering excellence by encouraging reuse, open sourcing, and best practices across teams
Engage with stakeholders at all levels to influence technology strategy and implementation
Serve as a trusted advisor in specific technology domains, shaping use cases and implementation strategies
Mentor internal talent and actively participate in recruiting efforts to develop next-generation technical leaders
