The team operates around 50 sites in 32 states with a robust development pipeline.
About the role
The Operations Data Engineer will configure, troubleshoot, and maintain the plant historian and data infrastructure for all asset types in operations. The position is expected to understand equipment deployed at each facility and will work directly with TECH, Field Services, and Operations Planning to develop and execute improvements in the plant historian and other data keeping sources.
The primary focuses for this position are management of Ignition and Aveva data infrastructures, PLC development & installation, and HMI development & installation. Travel requirement of 25%.
Key accountabilities
Maintains data infrastructure for all operating sites through the Ignition and Aveva platforms
Troubleshoots and resolves data communications loss between field sites and back-office TECH infrastructure
Creates and manages TAG-DEVICE interface for all operating sites to ensure accuracy of data descriptions
Collaborates with Operations and TECH to locate and execute new TAG data feeds into existing enterprise reporting infrastructure
Creates, edits, and automates reports in Ignition and Aveva for use in environmental and revenue compliance programs
Assists with the development of HMI and PLC controls for new facilities.
Ability to locate and create device-tag relationships within plant HMI and PLC programs
Works closely with all engineering disciplines as well as operations staff to support accurate and complete data storage at operating sites.
Essential education
A bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, data science, or a related engineering field 3-5 years of related experience in a technical role using Ignition, Aveva or similar data storage platforms.
Essential experience
3-5 year's experience with Ignition, Aveva, or similar data storage platforms
Strong familiarity with Kepware, including setup, driver configuration, and ongoing maintenance to support reliable industrial connectivity.
Experience with natural gas or LFG fueled engines in either power generation or gas compression applications
Previous experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, preferably GE/Fanuc or GE Intelligent Platforms (Proficy Machine Edition or Cimplicity)
Familiar with HMI programming or troubleshooting (no specific manufacturer)
Experience working with and troubleshooting VFD motor controls and basic process control equipment (pressure, flow, temperature sensors)
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook; SQL; Rockwell RSLogix 5000, Rockwell FactroyTalk, GE/Fanuc and GE Intelligent platforms; Ignition; Aveva. Experience with other PLC and HMI programming platforms is highly desirable.

How much do we pay? $102,900 - $147,000 Note that the pay range listed for this position is a genuinely expected and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation at the time of posting.

This position offers paid vacation depending on your years of relevant industry experience and will range from 120 - 240 hours of vacation per year for full times employees (60 - 240 hours of vacation per year for part time employees). You will also be eligible for 9 paid holidays per year and 2 personal choice holidays.
