Position: Software Engineer (Codebase Deep Reasoning & Evaluation)

Type: Hourly Contract

Compensation: $85-$125/hr

Location: Remote

Commitment: Short-term, 10-40hrs/week

Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)

Analyze large, production-grade code repositories to devise and evaluate technically challenging coding questions.
Systematically explore multiple modules and connect related functions across files for cross-file logical synthesis.
Assess AI systems’ reasoning capabilities about software architecture, data flow, and performance.
Base conclusions on evidence, citing specific files, functions, and code lines.
Write clear, structured technical documentation conveying precise insights.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Strong years of elite software engineering experience at top-tier startups, quantitative trading firms, hedge funds, or similar environments.
Experience using coding agents or Large Language Models (LLMs) as part of engineering workflows (e.g., Copilot, Claude, GPT-4, Replit Agents).
Computer Science degree from a leading university or equivalent practical expertise.
Fluent in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; comfortable with Java, Go, Rust, C++, or C#.
Exhibits intellectual honesty and precision with ability to acknowledge uncertainty.
Strong architectural understanding and ability to identify design patterns and abstractions.
