Senior Product Designer (Contract to Hire, Remote — US Only)

LightPointe Recruiting is a boutique, design-focused recruiting partner built and run by designers. We work with early-stage companies and consultancies that treat design as a core discipline. We evaluate talent with craft and depth, not volume.

We’re supporting a growing design-led consulting group looking for a senior product designer who can balance strategy, UX depth, and clean execution. This is a contract-to-hire role intended to convert to full-time. Strong visibility, ownership, and impact.

What they’re looking for:

5 to 7+ years designing digital products
A portfolio with at least one strong end-to-end case study
Ability to present work clearly to internal teams or clients
Strong UX foundations paired with clean UI
Experience simplifying complex flows
Comfortable working with PMs, engineers, and cross-functional teams
Self-directed, collaborative, and comfortable with feedback
Authorized to work in the United States
Open to contract-to-hire with full-time conversion

Tools:

Figma (advanced components, systems, prototyping)
FigJam or similar for mapping and early exploration
Notion, Jira, or similar day-to-day collaboration tools
Comfortable using modern AI tools to speed up exploration or research

Nice to have:

Consulting or client-facing experience
Experience with compliance-heavy or regulated products
Strong visual or typographic sensibility
Basic motion or micro-interaction familiarity
Experience improving or contributing to design systems
Familiarity with Figma Make, Bolt, or similar tools

Compensation:

Contract rate based on experience
Full-time conversion range: $120,000 to $150,000
Benefits available upon conversion

Remote expectations:

Fully remote within the United States
Occasional daytime collaboration hours
Some light client-facing communication may be expected

What to include in your portfolio:

At least one case study showing the problem, process, decisions, and outcomes
Work that reflects clarity of thought and attention to detail
Bonus: systems thinking, interaction patterns, before/after improvements
