Job Specifications

We’re seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join a high-impact engineering team working on secure, large-scale cloud-based applications. This role is ideal for someone with a strong software development foundation, solid DevOps experience, and deep AWS expertise — particularly with Lambda.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services within a cloud-native AWS environment.
Work closely with DevOps engineers to automate and optimize CI/CD pipelines.
Implement serverless architectures using AWS Lambda and other AWS services.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of system reliability, scalability, and performance.
Support infrastructure management through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems.

Core Skills & Experience

Strong backend software development background — with proven experience in modern programming languages (Node.js preferred, but open to others such as Python, Java, or C#).
Hands-on DevOps experience (CI/CD, monitoring, automation, and containerization).
AWS expertise:
Essential: AWS Lambda
Desirable: AWS Connect, API Gateway, CloudFormation, or similar services.
Sound understanding of software engineering principles, clean code, and secure coding practices.
Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Role Details

Location: London or Leeds (Hybrid – approx. 40% on-site)
Start Date: October / November 2024
⏳ Duration: 6-Month Contract (with strong view to extend)
Clearance: SC Eligible essential – must have 5+ years of continuous UK residency
Engagement Type: Contract
