The Opportunity

As a Field Technical Engineer within our Electrophysiology (EP) team you will be responsible for providing expert support and advise on the use of the Abbott EP portfolio within the assigned territory.

What You’ll Work On

Provide expert clinical consultation, teaching and support on the use of all EP products and their appropriate application during electrophysiological procedures in the hospital (catheter laboratory)
Maintain up to date technical knowledge of current and new therapies and technologies within the therapy area, including competitor devices, as well as a general understanding of the dynamics of the country healthcare market; discuss industry-specific flagship products and services
Resolve common customer problems and respond to unexpected customer requests with a sense of urgency and positive action
Provide technical support to the EP salesforce; proactively communicate information and discuss product placement and complex case support with sales team; discuss whole range of Abbott EP products and services with physicians/hospital staff
Understand the business priorities of internal and external clients, awareness of sales targets and trends, marketing messaging and describe desired or actual business results in measurable scales or terms

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or science related field or equivalent
Ideally electrophysiology/cardiac rhythm management clinical experience or in an equivalent role within industry
Familiarity with catheter lab and operating room procedures and protocol and strong cardiac anatomy & physiology knowledge preferred
Strong communicator with active listening skills and questioning techniques
A willingness to travel 75% of the time and ability to work autonomously; adapting work schedule to procedures’ duration and coping with irregular/uneven work days
Fluency in English, French and Dutch
