Overall Purpose Of Role
The Crewing Manager is responsible for the overall management of the crew across the company’s fleet of vessels and VOO’s. Overseeing the recruitment, deployment, and welfare of seafarers, ensuring that all operations are in compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies. The Crewing Manager will collaborate with various departments to ensure the efficient and cost-effective management of crew resources while maintaining high standards of safety and operational readiness.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of seafarers, ensuring that all crew members meet the necessary qualifications, certifications, and experience levels.
Develop and maintain crew rotation schedules, ensuring optimal deployment and adherence to contract durations.
Manage the deployment and repatriation of crew members, coordinating with port agents and travel agencies.
Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and company policies.
Maintain up-to-date records of crew certifications, medical examinations, and training, ensuring that all crew members meet regulatory and company requirements.
Prepare for and participate in audits and inspections related to crewing.
Address and resolve performance issues, disciplinary matters, and grievances in a timely and professional manner.
Monitor crewing costs, including recruitment, training, travel, and third party payroll expenses
Act as the primary point of contact for crew-related matters, providing support and guidance to both seafarers and shore-based staff.
Liaise with vessel masters, port agents, and third party agents to ensure the smooth execution of crew changes and operations.
Maintain positive relationships with seafarers, ensuring their welfare and well-being throughout their contracted employment.
Ability to handle high pressure situations and make critical decisions.
Respond to emergencies and incidents involving crew members, coordinating with relevant authorities and agents to resolve issues swiftly.
Support Technical Services with shoreside asset maintenance and mobilizations.
Manage the Crewing Coordinators and Crewing Assistants on a daily basis.
Covering Crewing Coordinator and Crewing Assistants roles as and when required.
Training new members of staff. Identifying any training requirements.
Liaise with VISA and Immigration specialist for worldwide solutions.
Write and maintain Company Crewing Policy and Procedures.
Ensure all third party agency personnel adhere to IR35 regulations.
Address and resolve crew queries and concerns promptly, escalating issues to appropriate management team if necessary.
Ensure GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is adhered to regarding crew documentation and personal data.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
GCSE in Mathematics and English Language
Minimum Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Crewing Senior / Management or a similar role within the maritime industry.
Strong knowledge of International Maritime Regulations.
Proven experience in managing multicultural teams and handling complex crew operations.
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with database management.
