Job Title: Software Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Software Engineer with a passion for API design and microservices architecture to join our innovative team. You will play a critical role in making strategic architectural decisions to ensure our systems are scalable and maintainable. Your work will involve writing, testing, and maintaining production-quality code, while also designing and optimizing database schemas and data flow patterns.
Responsibilities
Design API and microservices architecture to ensure scalable and maintainable systems.
Write, test, and maintain production-quality code daily.
Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data flow patterns.
Ensure system reliability, monitoring, and incident response capabilities.
Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure.
Drive performance optimization and scalability for distributed systems and APIs.
Mentor and support engineering teams, maintaining high standards for code quality.
Oversee deployment processes across development, staging, and production environments.
Research and implement innovative solutions to challenging engineering problems.
Contribute to strong engineering culture, technical documentation, and collaborative problem-solving.
Essential Skills
5+ years of software development experience focused on backend.
Expert-level backend engineering in Go.
Advanced experience with API development and microservices.
Proven ability to lead backend architecture and system design in high-growth environments.
Strong expertise in AWS services, containerization, and Kubernetes (EKS).
Deep understanding of PostgreSQL and MongoDB optimization, schema design, and query performance.
Experience with message queuing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ).
Strong understanding of microservices architecture and API design principles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with Kubernetes and containerization is a plus.
Event-driven architecture is highly preferred.
Experience transitioning from monolith to microservices environment.
Full stack development knowledge is a plus.
Work Environment
This position is remote, but you must work on East Coast hours with core hours from 8 am to 12 pm when meetings occur. You will be part of a highly collaborative environment with a team of 25 engineers divided into project teams. The team conducts code reviews and operates in two-week sprints. The organization is dedicated to continuous improvement, always seeking ways to enhance processes and solve issues.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $67.31/hr.
