Senior/Lead Python Developer – 9-12 Month Contract – Fully Remote - £650 - £750 Outside IR35

My client is looking for a Senior/Lead Python Developer to step into a role that mixes real leadership with solid hands-on engineering. You’ll guide a small but growing team, keep standards high, while still being hands on.

The work is split into two phases:

Phase 1:

You’ll join an existing project, stabilise and optimise the current platform, steer the team, and push delivery forward. Expect a mix of problem-solving, performance tuning, and helping the team grow.

Phase 2 (From January):

A full greenfield build kicks off; new architecture, new services, and a chance to shape things properly from day one. You’ll have real influence over technical direction and team structure.

Techstack:

Python (FastAPI preferred, or Django)
AWS, GCP, or Azure
AI/ML tools: Hugging Face, PyTorch, NumPy
Large datasets and data-heavy workflows
Leading teams in a start-up/greenfield environment
