An aspiring teenage singer-songwriter is seeking a talented music producer to help create a first demo. The artist has written several original songs and plays guitar, drawing inspiration from Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gracie Abrams, with a sound that blends pop and alternative-indie influences. The primary goal is to produce a simple, polished demo that highlights the artist’s songwriting and vocal abilities. This is an opportunity to collaborate closely with a new artist at the start of their musical journey, with the potential for future projects if the partnership is successful. Remote collaboration is welcome, and creative input is encouraged to shape the final sound.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the artist to understand their musical vision and style
Arrange, record, and produce a demo track based on the artist’s original song
Provide guidance on song structure, instrumentation, and vocal performance
Mix and master the demo to a professional standard suitable for sharing with industry contacts
Communicate regularly with the artist to incorporate feedback and ensure the demo aligns with their creative goals
Deliver all project files and final audio in agreed formats

Skills And Requirements

Proven experience in music production, especially with pop and indie genres
Proficiency in digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Logic Pro, Ableton Live, or Pro Tools
Strong mixing and mastering skills to achieve a clean, professional sound
Ability to work remotely and manage project timelines independently
Excellent communication skills and openness to creative collaboration
Experience working with emerging or novice artists is a plus
Availability for a one-off project with potential for future collaborations
