It’s what sets us apart that brings us together.

Volvo Car Financial Services UK (VCFSUK) is a financial services joint venture business, part-owned by Volvo Cars and Santander Consumer Finance, operating across the UK Volvo retailer network, and also supporting Polestar and London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC). Everything we do starts with people. It’s what makes us different from other companies. If you share our belief in the power of people and our passion for human-centric innovation, you will thrive together with brilliant, like-minded colleagues who are committed to making a true difference.

What’s in it for you?

People are at the heart of our business. We want you to innovate, challenge, and build a future career at VCFSUK. In return, we offer a competitive basic salary of £24,800, a discretionary performance-related bonus, generous pension contribution and £500 flexible benefit allowance.

Hybrid working allows for greater flexibility and work-life balance, further enabling us to reduce our environmental impact and support your personal circumstances. We offer flexible working and 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Health & wellbeing initiatives, charitable giving days, and continual learning and development opportunities.

What you’ll do:

**To apply for our undergraduate placement scheme, you must be studying for an undergraduate degree that requires a placement year. Master’s students are not eligible.**

What you’ll do:

During your placement, you will provide support to subject matter experts within the team as they make key strategic decisions that will shape the future of VCFSUK. You’ll contribute significantly to the success and future of the brand by delivering fresh ideas and viewpoints and challenging current assumptions to meet the needs of future customers – so an innovative mindset is essential.

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and driven 12-month placement student within our Finance Team to join us in July 2026.

The role will be a mixture of understanding business operations, translating business needs into requirements, assisting in projects from concept to completion, and learning from those around you. You will:

Assist with financial reporting to the Senior Management Team, including P&L, Balance Sheet and pricing.
Ensure files are created accurately monthly to support the month end processes.
Assist the Finance Manager in creating financial reports on an ad hoc basis and assisting with ad hoc duties when required.
Own the invoicing process, to include obtaining approvals from the wider business and the Finance team, payment runs, tracking the status of invoices and following up on any queries.
Have responsibility for the SMT and RFDM credit card expenses, reconciling statements to receipts, ensuring sign off from HR for payroll deductions alongside the monitoring of RFDM expenditure.
Support in the annual budget and business plan preparations.
Assist with checking quarterly pricing, subsidies and campaigns when required.

Do you fit the profile?

You will have a real passion for problem-solving and the curiosity to understand business challenges and deliver innovative solutions. You will also have strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to champion new initiatives. You will:

Currently studying for a degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Excellent mathematical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
High attention to detail
Ability to work independently as part of a small team
Excel skills at an intermediate level
A desire to accomplish the ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent, qualification in the future

How to learn more and apply:

Our placement is open to any university student who is in their penultimate year (those who will be returning to their final year of study after their placement with us).

We have a duty of care to our people and wouldn't want you to spend a large amount of time commuting, so we require our undergraduates to be based within a reasonable radius of our Maidenhead office. Our Hybrid Working requires you to be in the office a minimum of 3 days/week.

Once you have applied, you will receive a phone call to discuss your application so that we have a chance to get to know a little more about you. And you get the opportunity to get to know more about us. We will then invite you to an Assessment Centre, where you will interview with the hiring manager, view what our workplace has to offer, meet the team and answer any questions that you may have. A decision will be made shortly after.

The Assessment Centre will take place on Thursday 5th February 2026.

To comply with UK GDPR, we cannot accept applications by email. Please submit your application using the ‘Apply’ button on this LinkedIn job post by Sunday 28th December 2025.
