Internships at ByteDance aim to provide students with hands-on experience in developing fundamental skills and exploring potential career paths. A vibrant blend of social events and enriching development workshops will be available for you to explore. Here, you will utilize your knowledge in real-world scenarios while laying a strong foundation for personal and professional growth. It runs for 12 weeks.

Online Assessment
Candidates who pass resume screening will be invited to participate in ByteDance's technical online assessment.
Responsibilities:
Develop efficient and highly reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications for e-commerce products.
Code optimization to improve scalability, reliability, security and performance of web applications.
Collaborate with product design, product management and software engineering teams to deliver best in class user experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026.
Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
General familiarity and interest in frontend development, including:
Languages: JavaScript/Typescript/HTML/CSS
Frontend frameworks: React/Vue/Angular
Packaging frameworks: Webpack/Rollup/BaBel/AST/Gulp
Familiar with key concepts like functional and asynchronous programming, closures and types, layouts, specificity, animation, cross browser compatibility, data security and accessibility.
General understanding of multi-tier application architecture and protocols, familiarity with product and software development lifecycle process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduating December 2026 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship.
Agile, quick self learner, highly self-motivated with strong sense of product ownership and creative problem solver.
Deeply passionate about software coding/development and building great mobile/web applications.
Good collaborator and team player, comfortable working in a fast moving, culturally diverse and globally distributed team environment.

Job Information
For Pay TransparencyCompensation Description (Hourly) - Campus Intern
The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $42.75- $42.75.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
