Programme Overview

The Junior Data Manager placement is part of Pfizer’s UK Undergraduate Programme 2026/2027 within Clinical Data and Information Sciences (CDIS), a key function in Clinical Development & Operations (CD&O). This role provides hands-on experience in collecting, reviewing, and managing clinical trial data, supporting regulatory submissions and ensuring data integrity.

Placement Duration: 12 months

Start Date: 1st September 2026

Key Responsibilities

Participate in clinical data review and query management to support Pfizer’s clinical portfolio
Assist with database design, documentation, testing, validation, and implementation of data collection tools (CRF and non-CRF) using EDC or other systems
Support Trial Master File (TMF) documentation, ensuring quality and compliance
Assist with operational excellence activities including data cleaning, visualization, metrics reporting, and submission-related tasks
Apply learning in line with SOPs and regulatory requirements
Collaborate across teams to understand clinical data management processes and contribute to high-quality outcomes

Person Specification

Who Can Apply:

UK University students completing a placement as part of a degree (Year in Industry, Industrial Placement, or Gap Year)
Health Sciences or Technology degree preferred

Skills & Knowledge:

Fundamental understanding of clinical development and the pharmaceutical regulatory environment (e.g., FDA, Health Canada)
Basic knowledge of clinical data management processes and principles
Awareness of MedDRA/WHO-Drug preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Willingness and ability to learn data systems and visualization tools (Spotfire, J-Review)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience:

0–2 years of relevant university experience in data management or related projects
