Job Summary

The ServiceNow CMDB SME will be responsible for driving CMDB strategy, governance, data accuracy, and service mapping initiatives. This role ensures CI classification, discovery patterns, and reconciliation processes are optimized and aligned with ITIL best practices. The SME will work closely with cross-functional teams to maintain CMDB integrity and improve service visibility.

Key Responsibilities

Define and maintain CMDB strategy, roadmap, and standards.
Establish governance framework, policies, and processes for CMDB.
Ensure CMDB aligns with ITIL Configuration Management practices.
Drive data quality initiatives: completeness, correctness, uniqueness, and relationship accuracy.
Approve and monitor CI reconciliation, normalization, and deduplication processes.
Oversee accuracy of CI classes, identification rules, and discovery patterns.
Ensure correct CI classification and relationship mapping.
Validate Discovery and Service Mapping patterns for end-to-end service visibility.
Coordinate with Discovery and Service Mapping teams for effective CI discovery.
Monitor MID Servers, probes, and sensors for accurate CI identification.
Lead a team of CMDB analysts, data quality specialists, and pattern developers.
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and service owners for CI validation.
Provide CMDB health updates, metrics, and improvement insights to leadership.
Define and track CMDB KPIs, dashboards, and data quality metrics.
Recommend improvements to enhance CMDB adoption and accuracy.

Required Skills

Hands-on expertise in ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and IRE.
Strong knowledge of CI classification, identification patterns, and reconciliation logic.
Solid understanding of ITIL Configuration, Change, and Incident Management.
Proven experience leading CMDB or ServiceNow technical teams.
Strong scripting background (GlideScript, Business Rules, Script Includes).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience working in multi-instance or multi-region ServiceNow environments.
