Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain consistent Azure governance frameworks, including policies, guardrails, RBAC, resource organization, naming standards, and compliance baselines.
Implement security controls aligned with industry standards (e.g., Azure Security Benchmark, Zero Trust).
Drive continuous improvement of identity, access, network security, and workload protection across the cloud estate.
Enhance operational reliability by improving system availability, performance, observability, disaster recovery, and incident response processes.
Build and optimize monitoring, alerting, and logging patterns using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Sentinel.
Partner with operations teams to maintain healthy cloud environments and reduce operational toil through automation.
Analyze and optimize cloud spend using FinOps principles while ensuring service level commitments.
Implement policies, tagging standards, budgets, and reporting to control and forecast Azure costs.
Work with product and engineering teams to design cost-efficient architectures.
Deliver repeatable, scalable IaC patterns using Bicep, Terraform, ARM, or similar tools.
Build automation pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.) to support CI/CD for infrastructure and platform services.
Enable Cloud Engineers and App Teams through self-service landing zones, reusable modules, and automated provisioning workflows.
Ensure seamless integration between Azure and on-premises systems including Active Directory/Entra ID, Azure Stack HCI, and hybrid VDI/W365 environments.
Maintain hybrid connectivity using ExpressRoute, VPN, Azure Arc, and identity synchronization.
Support modernization of legacy workloads into hybrid/edge-enabled cloud architectures.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience designing, implementing, and managing Azure cloud environments at enterprise scale.
Strong knowledge of Azure governance, security, identity, networking, and resource management.
Hands-on expertise with IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and automation pipelines.
Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and cloud operational frameworks (SRE, ITIL, DevOps).
Experience with FinOps practices and cloud cost analysis tools.
Understanding of hybrid identity, Azure AD/Entra ID, AD DS, and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Experience supporting Azure Stack HCI, VDI/W365, or similar hybrid/edge services is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400, AZ-500 or equivalent).
Experience working with large-scale, regulated, or mission-critical environments.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence engineering and business stakeholders.
