Senior Infrastructure Developer (Python, VMware Cloud Foundation)
As part of our global Virtualization Engineering team, you’ll play a critical role in architecting, integrating, and automating our next-generation infrastructure based on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF). We are embarking on a multi-year transformation, leveraging expert consultants to deliver a scalable, automated virtualization stack. You’ll work hands-on with VCF, Linux, Ansible, and our proprietary configuration management system to deliver robust solutions across both brownfield and greenfield environments.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and automate configuration management for a large-scale, global VCF-based virtualization platform using Python and Ansible.
Engineer and integrate APIs to provide infrastructure-on-demand and seamless interaction between on-prem and third-party tools.
Lead lab-based testing, certification, and integration of new hardware and software components into existing infrastructure.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and architect scalable, resilient solutions.
Ensure technical alignment with both vendor best practices and internal standards for reliability, automation, and security.
Work independently to deliver on aggressive project timelines and resolve complex technical challenges.
Required Skills:
Extensive experience automating infrastructure tasks (installation, configuration, management) using Python.
Hands-on experience with automation frameworks (Ansible, Python) and Infrastructure as Code practices.
Deep understanding of virtualization technologies, ideally VMWare Cloud Foundation (VCF) or vSphere.
Strong technical fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, Linux, distributed systems.
Experience integrating APIs and automating workflows across hybrid infrastructure stacks. Familiarity with software version control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern SDLC practices.
Desired Skills:
Hands-on expertise with VMware’s suite (VCF, vSphere, vSAN) in both greenfield and brownfield rollout scenarios.
Knowledge of software testing methodologies for infrastructure automation.
Experience with other programming languages (e.g., Go, PowerShell, Bash).
Understanding of containerization and cloud-native patterns.
Experience working in high-pressure, global teams on multi-year strategic projects.
