Job Title: IT Project Manager
Location: DFW Metro Area (Remote with occasional onsite in Denton, TX)
Job Type: 6 month contract; possible extension
Compensation: $50–$55/hr.
Overview:
GTS is seeking a motivated and assertive IT Project Manager for one of our clients. This role will oversee critical infrastructure and migration projects while driving documentation, coordination, and delivery across IT teams. The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of IT project management experience, strong infrastructure knowledge, and the ability to push initiatives forward in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead IT infrastructure projects, including:
Active Directory migrations (on-prem to Azure AD).
SSO platform transition to MFA (Duo + Microsoft).
Server replacements and domain migrations.
Storage migrations and disaster recovery planning.
Data center moves (on-prem to cloud/colocation).
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and documentation.
Capture undocumented knowledge from long-tenured employees and create clear documentation of current/future states.
Facilitate project charters, requirement gathering, and stakeholder communication.
Serve as the coordinator across IT groups and ensure progress on project deliverables.
Utilize project management tools (MS Project, ServiceNow, Planview a plus).
Apply Waterfall and hybrid methodologies; leverage Kanban for workflow management.
Provide reporting, updates, and presentations to leadership. Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required (Information Technology, Business, or related field).
2–5 years of IT Project Management experience (infrastructure, networking, data center, migrations).
Familiarity with technologies such as VMware, telephony/VoIP, Cisco, and Azure.
Strong documentation skills and ability to capture and translate knowledge into actionable materials.
Assertive personality who can extract information and drive results.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage with varied personalities.
Experience with vendor collaboration a plus.
PMP certification preferred.
