Description

Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Network and Security Engineer is well versed in network administration and able to effectively handle and mitigate against information security and network security challenges, including a variety of cyber security threats and other online risks to IGF’s business.

Job Responsibilities

The Network and Security Engineer does the following.

Manages network administration for a multi-location business
Reduces the risk of accidental and malicious data loss, or theft, by identifying exposure risks and closing information-system gaps
Trains IGF employees on data security best practice
In the event of a breach or attack, leads the response to safeguard data and improve future data-protection practices
Plans and schedules network maintenance activities to maintain consistent uptime in facility networks
Identify possible network failure modes and implement solutions to prevent downtime
Standardizes network and security equipment to provide templates for new facilities
Contributes to the team by performing other work as necessary

Qualifications

∙Minimum five years of IT security experience

∙Demonstrated ability to install, administer, and troubleshoot network topology, or the physical or logical arrangement of devices (nodes) and connections (links)

∙Proficiency in cybersecurity practices, including risk assessment, threat mitigation, and incident response

∙Ability to install, administer, and troubleshoot security solutions

∙Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in the IT security industry

∙Ability to assist in reviewing and updating security policies

∙Strong communications skills for apprehending, responding to, and/or documenting security breaches

∙Applicable and current information technology certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or CISA)

∙Proficiency in PowerPoint or other training/presentation software

∙Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in information technology management
