Full-Stack Engineer (Ruby on Rails & React)
Our client is transforming the automotive landscape with a modern mobility management platform designed for dealerships, OEMs, and connected fleets. As a Full-Stack Engineer, you will play a key role in building and scaling the core systems that power customer experiences, backend operations, and dealership workflows across the automotive ecosystem.
Role Overview
As a Full-Stack Engineer, you'll contribute to the architecture and development of our Ruby on Rails and React-based applications that drive everything from fleet management to customer bookings. You’ll work in a fast-paced, agile environment where engineers are empowered to own features end to end—from design to deployment—and where collaboration with product, design, and infrastructure is central to success.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable front-end and back-end features using Ruby on Rails and React across Dealerware’s SaaS platform and white-labeled customer portals
Translate mobility use cases into reliable APIs and modular UI components that integrate with services like insurance verification, connected car telemetry, and fleet availability engines
Collaborate with cross-functional squads to iterate on roadmap priorities, refine user stories, and deliver secure and performant features for dealerships and OEM partners
Write clear, testable, and maintainable code, with peer-reviewed pull requests and robust unit/integration test coverage (e.g., RSpec, Jest)
Support deployments via our CI/CD pipelines, monitor features in Datadog, and troubleshoot issues in production as needed
Contribute to the technical evolution of our platform by participating in architectural discussions, RFCs, and internal engineering guilds
Follow secure development practices and assist in compliance needs (SOC2, ISO) through documentation and test coverage
Required Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack development using Ruby on Rails and React
Strong command of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design patterns
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and managing state across front-end apps
Proficiency with PostgreSQL (or other relational DBs), ActiveRecord, and database schema design
Strong testing practices using RSpec, Jest, or similar frameworks
Familiarity with Git-based workflows and Agile software development methodologies
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Bonus Points
Experience working in mobility, automotive, logistics, or fleet-tech industries
Familiarity with AWS services (ECS, RDS, Lambda, S3), CI/CD (e.g., CircleCI), and Docker
Exposure to feature flagging, multi-tenant architecture, or Auth0/OAuth2 authentication
Contributions to shared design systems or reusable component libraries
