Database Administrator (PostgreSQL DBA GIS) – £500/day via Umbrella – 3-month contract – Remote - SCC Flex Contract

We are seeking a PostgreSQL DBA (GIS) to provide specialist support and assurance for critical business processes reliant on PostgreSQL within an Azure PaaS environment. This is a remote role focused on performance tuning, upgrades, and advanced GIS capabilities.

Your responsibilities as the PostgreSQL DBA:

Deliver expert consultation for incident resolution and performance optimisation.
Support PostgreSQL version upgrades and resolve related issues.
Provide advanced guidance on PostGIS functionality and enhancements.
Analyse and recommend improvements for database performance and reliability.
Collaborate with internal DBA teams to bridge knowledge gaps and ensure best practices.
Maintain compliance with SLA commitments and support critical business processes.

As a successful PostgreSQL DBA, you will have:

Certification in PostgreSQL DBA and support.
Proven experience in performance profiling and tuning PostgreSQL.
Advanced expertise with PostGIS.
Availability for out of working hours support.
Strong track record in managing PostgreSQL upgrades.
Familiarity with Azure PostgreSQL Flexible Server.
Contribution to the open-source PostgreSQL project (desirable).
