Job Description
As a Software Development - Simulation Manager at Vention…
You’ll lead the Simulation Software team, driving the design and implementation of new 3D simulation features and workflows that empower users to autonomously design, validate, and visualize machines. You will assume responsibility for a high-impact segment of Vention’s product portfolio and shape how our technology is demonstrated and deployed to customers.
What You’ll Do
Manage a team of 5+ direct reports, mentoring both their technical and interpersonal growth.
Organize the team’s work using quarterly planning, agile sprint cycles, code reviews, automated testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Partner with Product Managers to define strategic roadmaps and priorities for simulation software.
Participate in designing user experiences and GUIs for simulation features.
Design, develop, and maintain robust software applications with high performance and scalability.
Foster a test-automation culture, elevating standards in unit, integration, and scenario testing.
Support and mentor junior engineers in all aspects of agile software development.
Apply software design patterns (SOLID principles) and best practices to create clean, reusable code.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop simulation and physics-based applications, including working with physics engines and renderers.
Apply mathematical concepts (including linear algebra) when needed to support simulation development.
Qualifications

You’ll bring:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
10+ years of software development experience.
3+ years of experience in a leadership role.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
Experience with game engines, physics-based simulation, or 3-D graphics rendering.
Experience in modernizing legacy codebases while maintaining system integrity.
A background in automated testing in a development context.
A curiosity to learn, a collaborative mindset, and a drive to contribute to something meaningful
Nice to have:
Experience with ROS (Robot Operating System) or other robotics software integration.
Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodology.
Background in embedded systems or real-time computing.
