About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Odoo Developer (Freelance) to join our client’s mission-critical project in Brussels. This is a unique opportunity to deliver a high-impact proof of concept that will transform financial data management and client engagement for a leading public sector organization. Your expertise will directly shape the future of financial operations and legal processes, driving innovation where it matters most.
Why This Role Matters
This project is pivotal in streamlining the import and management of financial data from SAP (CSV format) into Odoo, enabling seamless processes for Perception and Recovery of receivables. The outcomes will empower finance, commercial, and legal teams to operate with greater efficiency, transparency, and control. Your work will lay the foundation for smarter financial reporting, automated reconciliation, and a next-generation client portal — all within a public sector context where impact is amplified.
What You’ll Be Doing
Designing and delivering a proof of concept for importing financial data from SAP (CSV) into Odoo, focusing on Perception (operational) and Recovery (legal) processes
Implementing and customizing Odoo modules, including Accounting, Payment Follow-up, Document Management, and Dashboards
Enabling automated invoice sending, payment processing, and bank reconciliation workflows
Exploring and potentially developing a client portal for enhanced customer interaction
Collaborating with finance, commercial, and legal departments to ensure functional and technical alignment
Delivering robust financial reporting and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making
Ensuring code quality and version control using GIT
Driving change management and knowledge transfer within a hybrid, public sector environment
Working on-site in Brussels at least two days per week, with hybrid flexibility
What We’re Looking For
Proven expertise in Odoo V18, with hands-on experience implementing Accounting, Payment Follow-up, Document, and Dashboard modules
Advanced proficiency in Python and PostgreSQL, with recent project experience
Strong command of GIT for version control and collaborative development
Experience in public sector projects is highly valued
Demonstrated ability to drive change management and deliver impactful solutions
Ownership mindset, problem-solving drive, and a passion for building systems that matter
Native or bilingual proficiency in Dutch or French
Ability to be on-site in Brussels at least two days per week (mandatory)
Experience with financial data integration, reconciliation, and legal process automation in Odoo
Clear communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams
Other Requirements
This is a freelance position with a fixed duration of 4 months (part-time, 2/5 FTE), with potential for extension
Engagement is subject to public procurement law; project is managed via a leading MSP
Fast payment available according to contract terms

Native or bilingual proficiency in Dutch or French is required
