Senior Azure DevOps / Platform Engineer – Outside IR35

Location: London 1-2 days a week onsite | Duration: 6–12 months | Start: ASAP

A leading tech organisation is embarking on a major cloud-native transformation and is seeking an expert Azure DevOps / Platform Engineer to support Azure migration, platform engineering and automation initiatives.

The Role

You’ll help modernise legacy on-prem services into a multi-region Azure platform, building secure, scalable and automated cloud environments. Working with Architecture, Security and Engineering teams, you’ll deliver high-quality cloud solutions using best-practice DevSecOps tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Azure platform design, build, optimisation and migration.
Develop and enhance Azure Landing Zones (CAF).
Architect and manage AKS / Kubernetes environments.
Automate infrastructure with Terraform, PowerShell and Packer.
Build and maintain Azure DevOps YAML pipelines with security gates.
Support cloud security, monitoring, logging, WAF and secrets management.
Create reusable IaC modules, documentation and operational standards.

Essential Skills

10+ years in Infrastructure / DevOps / Platform Engineering.
Expert-level Azure: compute, networking, security, PaaS/IaaS.
Deep hands-on experience with:
AKS
Kubernetes & Docker
Terraform (IaC)
PowerShell
Azure DevOps – YAML Pipelines
Proven Azure Landing Zone (CAF) delivery and multi-region architectures.
On-prem to Azure migration using rehost, re-platform and refactor patterns.
Strong DevSecOps and cloud security expertise.
