About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Technology team as an individual contributor in a hybrid work environment, with 2-3 days in our office located at 100 King Street West. The ideal candidate will bring 10-15 years of extensive experience in data platform engineering, including data warehouses, ETL processes, and AI-enabled data solutions. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, innovative data systems that support business intelligence, analytics, and AI functionalities.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, develop robust data pipelines, and implement automation strategies to optimize data processing and storage. Your expertise will help drive modernization initiatives, improve process efficiencies, and support the organization’s strategic objectives through advanced data engineering practices.

Qualifications

10-15 years of professional experience in data engineering and platform development
Proven experience working with multiple data warehouses and databases, both on-premises and cloud-based
Recent hands-on experience with Artificial Intelligence integration within data platforms
Strong proficiency in Python, Scala, and Bash scripting
Expertise in writing complex SQL and No-SQL queries
Experience designing and developing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data transformation workflows
Knowledge of data modeling, large-scale system design, and data mining techniques
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated systems, and modern data architecture
Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and cross-team collaboration
Ability to lead technical discussions and guide team members in coding, testing, and deployment

Responsibilities

Translate business requirements into scalable, practical, and innovative data solutions aligned with organizational goals
Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines for diverse data sources and downstream applications
Implement process improvements through automation, re-modeling, and modernization efforts to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Handle extract, transform, load (ETL) processes, ensuring data integrity and performance optimization
Develop and optimize data models supporting large-scale transformations and analytics
Collaborate with stakeholders, including business, architecture, and operations teams, to ensure alignment and successful delivery
Guide the team in coding, testing, and deploying new and existing data pipelines and automated solutions
Support the development of AI solutions embedded within data platforms to enable advanced analytics capabilities
Participate in discussions regarding system architecture, data governance, and security best practices
Maintain documentation and provide technical guidance to ensure best practices and standards are upheld
