Senior AI Solution Consultant
Location: Brighton, UK (Remote-first, occasional team meetups)
Type: (3–4 days per week to start) | Strategic Leadership Role
Compensation: Flexible structure + Meaningful Equity.
Build with us from the ground up
Cleverfox AI is an emerging AI consultancy built for the real world — practical, lean, and fast-moving. We help ambitious companies harness AI through bespoke strategy and hands-on implementation, working across large language models, automation, machine learning, and custom agent systems.
We’re now at a pivotal inflection point — with growing demand, strong client traction, and a need to solidify our commercial and technical foundations before we scale.
We’re looking for a founding-level AI consultant and technical lead to join the leadership core and help shape what Cleverfox becomes — technically, commercially, and culturally.
This is a rare opportunity to join early, help build the engine, and grow with us.
Why this is different
Founding-level opportunity — you’ll help shape our AI consultancy proposition, delivery model, and technical DNA from day one
Meaningful equity — not just a line in a contract, but a real stake in what we’re building
Rapidly growing client base — strong inbound demand and repeat business
Flexible structure — start with 3–4 days/week for 3 months, then grow with us as we scale
Real ownership — no layers of abstraction
The Role
We’re looking for someone who can sit at the intersection of consulting, business analysis, and technical leadership.
You’ll work directly with clients to understand their business, diagnose where AI can add real value, shape roadmaps, and then lead the design and delivery of the solutions. You’ll partner closely with the founder and core team to refine our offers, build reusable frameworks, and set the standards for how we deliver AI projects.
This role suits a senior AI/ML developer or technical lead who also enjoys client-facing consulting and wants more ownership, more commercial influence, and more direct impact — without the bloat of a larger consultancy or product org.
You’ll be responsible for
Client consulting and business analysis
Leading client discovery, workshops, and stakeholder interviews to understand goals, constraints, and current processes
Translating business problems into clear AI opportunities, use cases, and requirements
Defining success metrics, expected impact, and simple ROI/value cases for proposed AI initiatives
Producing structured artefacts: discovery summaries, solution options, recommendations, and roadmaps
Challenging client assumptions, prioritising ruthlessly, and focusing on what will actually move the needle
Solution design and technical leadership
Designing and overseeing end-to-end AI solutions for clients and internal initiatives
Leading on LLM implementation, agent / workflow design, and automation across tools and systems
Designing data flows and integration points between existing client systems and new AI components
Building scalable, maintainable frameworks and reference architectures to accelerate future delivery
Integrating third-party APIs, open-source tools, and foundation models (e.g. GPT-4.x, Claude, LLaMA)
Helping define our technical standards, governance, and delivery approach (quality, security, compliance)
Delivery, commercial impact, and practice building
Working with clients from idea through prototype to production and adoption
Identifying follow-on opportunities, upsell paths, and new offers based on client needs
Shaping our future team: mentoring, supporting hiring, and influencing culture and ways of working
Contributing to case studies, playbooks, and internal IP that make our work repeatable and defensible
You might be a fit if you…
Have proven client-facing consulting experience (e.g. digital transformation, data/AI consulting, product discovery, or similar)
Are comfortable acting as both business partner and technical lead in front of senior stakeholders
Have AI/ML experience and a track record of delivering production-grade systems or workflows
Are deeply comfortable in Python and standard ML/AI tooling (e.g. PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face), or equivalent strong stack
Have hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, vector databases, and agent / orchestration frameworks
Understand MLOps principles, automation tools (Zapier, n8n, Make), and cloud deployments in at least one major cloud
Can produce clear, structured documents and presentations that non-technical stakeholders can act on
Are entrepreneurial by nature — proactive, commercially aware, and comfortable with ambiguity
Enjoy solving problems collaboratively and explaining complex ideas simply
Want to be involved in something early — shaping not just what’s built, but what we sell and how we deliver it
What we offer
A real seat at the table: influence, equity, and trust
A fast-moving pipeline of meaningful, applied AI projects
A small, focused team that moves q
