Freelance Project & Construction Managers – UK Utility-Scale Solar (Start Feb 2026)

1 - 2 year Contracts | UK Travel

We’re supporting a major international renewables developer delivering two new 55 MW utility-scale solar parks in the UK. They’re now looking for experienced Project Managers and Construction Managers to join on a freelance basis.

If you’ve actually built large solar sites in the UK — and can prove it — you’re exactly who they want to talk to.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for full-lifecycle delivery of utility-scale solar projects:

Day-to-day oversight of engineering, construction and commissioning
On-site leadership of engineers, subcontractors & civil/electrical teams
Procurement, supplier coordination & contract negotiation
Technical evaluation and hands-on problem-solving
Driving the project from breaking ground to operational handover

This is real, on-the-ground project delivery — not remote oversight.

What You Need

This client wants genuine UK solar experience — no inflated CVs.

Must-haves:

Proven track record delivering utility-scale UK solar farms
Strong understanding of UK grid-connection processes — G99 experience is a big advantage
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams on-site
Ability to travel to UK project locations as needed
Commitment to long-term engagements (1–2+ years)

Bonus points:

Experience with international EPCs
Strong commercial and supplier negotiation background
