The Role:

The McLeuker Project is building the next generation of sustainable fashion discovery, a mobile application powered by a high-performance Python backend. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic React Native Frontend Developer Intern to help build the core mobile user interfaces.

This internship is a hands-on opportunity to translate high-fidelity designs (like our User Flow diagram ) into production-ready mobile features. You will work directly with the backend team using a modern, asynchronous FastAPI stack.

Core Responsibilities:

As a Frontend Intern, you will be responsible for implementing user-facing features and ensuring high quality, performant mobile UI/UX.

Feature Implementation: Build and implement key screens and components for the McLeuker mobile app using React Native and the Expo framework.
State Management: Assist in integrating application state logic using modern tools (e.g., basic Redux/Zustand patterns) to manage user session and product data.
API Integration: Connect mobile components to our unified FastAPI backend via REST APIs to fetch product listings, user profiles, and AI search results.
UI/UX Translation: Ensure the final mobile product accurately reflects the agreed-upon design specifications and styling.
Quality Assurance: Participate in code reviews, fix bugs, and ensure cross-platform compatibility (iOS/Android) within the Expo environment.

Minimum Requirements:

We are looking for passion and a willingness to learn over years of professional experience.

Currently pursuing a degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Demonstrable personal project experience with React or React Native.
Solid foundational understanding of JavaScript (ES6+) and CSS/Styling concepts.
Familiarity with consuming data from RESTful APIs (e.g., using fetch or Axios).
Strong verbal and written communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
