Job Title: Systems Analyst 3 (Java EE Developer)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote; Local candidates only)
Contract Duration: 8 + Months
Description of Services:
We are seeking 2 Systems Analyst 3 candidates with strong expertise in Java EE development and application modernization. Candidates should have deep experience analyzing legacy systems, migrating to modern cloud-native platforms, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure business continuity, modularity, security, and interoperability.
Responsibilities
Analyze legacy Java EE components (EJB, JPA, SOAP services) to support modernization decisions.
Participate in application rationalization and transformation planning.
Support technical walkthroughs and document current application behavior, dependencies, and integration points.
Collaborate with architects and business analysts to retain business logic and interoperability during modernization.
Assist in migrating legacy systems to cloud-native platforms with microservices and API-driven architectures.
Utilize AI-based code analysis tools to examine legacy Java EE applications.
Extract and document business requirements and rules from existing code.
Work with stakeholders and technical teams to validate requirements.
Identify and record technical debt, design patterns, and architectural details within legacy systems.
Required Qualifications
12+ years hands-on experience in Java/Java EE development (EJB, JPA, SOAP services), with ability to analyze legacy codebases for cloud migration.
12+ years proficiency in Java SE 1.8 and Java EE 8 with deployment on enterprise-grade application servers.
12+ years experience with object-relational mapping and persistence integration.
10+ years collaborating with cross-functional teams (architects, analysts, security engineers).
8+ years experience with AI code analysis tools (static analysis, code understanding, pattern recognition).
8+ years familiarity with DevSecOps practices (automated testing, deployment, monitoring).
8+ years exposure to cloud-native transformation strategies (containerization, elastic scaling, loosely coupled interfaces).
8+ years working in Agile methodologies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, collaboration with SMEs).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years strong communication and collaboration skills.
6+ years experience with requirement elicitation and documentation.
