Role Overview
We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to support technology modernisation projects. You will work closely with architects, technology leads, product teams, and project managers to define requirements, map processes, guide solution design, and support Agile delivery.
This position is ideal for someone who is confident working in complex technical environments and enjoys bridging the gap between business needs and IT delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Capture, analyse, and document business and technical requirements, ensuring they align with project goals, roadmaps, and delivery plans.
Create high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, and functional documentation.
Support prioritisation of work across teams and stakeholders; collaborate with PMs, Tech Leads, and Team Managers.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Produce clear and structured documentation-from high-level requirements to detailed functional specs.
Design and challenge business processes using BPMN 2.0, ensuring they support modernisation objectives.
Provide functional and technical expertise to support logical data models, wireframes, use case specifications, and business process flows.
Understand and manage the technical impact of changes across systems and teams.
Lead and facilitate workshops, using appropriate business analysis techniques.
Contribute to the definition of operating models, including current-state and target-state designs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Degree-level education with ISEB/BCS BA Diploma or IIBA (eg, CBAP) certification.
Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on technical or software development projects.
Experience in financial or regulatory environments preferred.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and the SDLC within Agile delivery.
Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
Excellent stakeholder management, able to influence and challenge constructively.
Experience working on large, complex change programmes.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Desirable Experience
Knowledge of business architecture principles.
Experience in data analysis, data journeys, integration, or data migration.
Exposure to scaled Agile frameworks within mixed Agile/Waterfall environments.
Certifications in Agile, DevOps, or similar delivery methodologies.
Understanding of project management disciplines such as resource planning and time management.
