Software Engineering Intern (Unpaid) – Prox

Location: Remote

Prox is a fast-growing grocery savings startup helping shoppers save money by comparing grocery prices across retailers in real time. We’re building the future of smart grocery shopping, and we’re looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our team.

This is an unpaid internship, ideal for students or early-career engineers looking to gain hands-on experience building consumer-facing products and working directly with a startup founder.

What You’ll Work On

Contribute to front-end and/or back-end development of our consumer platform.
Help design and implement new product features for web and mobile.
Support data integration projects and improve system performance.
Collaborate with the founder on technical problem-solving and product direction.
Gain exposure to modern dev tools and workflows used in fast-moving startups.

What We’re Looking For

Familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks (React, React Native, Expo).
Interest in backend technologies (APIs, databases, scraping tools).
Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn quickly.
Ability to commit 20–40 hours/week (flexible around school schedules).
Based in Southern California is a plus (opportunities for in-person collaboration).
