Job Title: Data Scientist (GenAI / LLM)
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months Contract (Possible Extension)
Experience: 4+ years
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to lead and contribute to advanced analytics, machine learning, and Generative AI (GenAI) / Large Language Model (LLM) initiatives. This role will drive end-to-end data science projects, from problem definition and model development to deployment and business impact, working across multiple domains and use cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver data science, machine learning, and GenAI/LLM projects from concept to production
Design, develop, and deploy ML models including time-series forecasting, regression, and segmentation models
Build and apply LLM and GenAI solutions (e.g., prompt engineering, fine-tuning, embeddings, RAG pipelines) to solve business problems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, business stakeholders) to translate requirements into scalable data solutions
Perform data exploration, feature engineering, model evaluation, and performance optimization
Ensure best practices in model development, validation, documentation, and reproducibility
Work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to diverse problem domains
Leverage cloud-based tools and infrastructure, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP), for model development and deployment
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
Minimum 4 years of experience working as a Data Scientist
Strong experience with:
Time-series analysis and forecasting
Regression models
Segmentation and clustering techniques
Hands-on experience with LLMs and Generative AI (mandatory)
Exposure to multiple, diverse data science projects across different problem statements
Proficiency in Python (mandatory)
Proficiency in SQL (mandatory)
Strong familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) (mandatory)
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
Experience deploying models to production environments
Knowledge of MLOps practices and pipelines
Experience with big data tools and distributed computing
Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
