Information Security Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Information Security Engineer with 2+ years of hands-on experience to support and strengthen our organisation’s security posture. In this role, you will help protect systems, networks, and data by implementing security controls, monitoring threats, and supporting incident response activities.

This position is ideal for professionals who have moved beyond entry-level security roles and want to deepen their expertise in cybersecurity operations and engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and maintain security controls across systems, networks, and applications
Monitor security events, alerts, and logs using security tools and SIEM platforms
Assist in identifying, analysing, and responding to security incidents
Support vulnerability assessments, remediation activities, and patch management
Work with IT and engineering teams to apply security best practices
Help maintain security documentation, policies, and procedures
Support compliance requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, or similar)
Participate in regular security reviews, audits, and risk assessments

Required Skills & Qualifications

2+ years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or IT security roles
Understanding of security principles including access control, encryption, and network security
Experience working with operating systems such as Windows and Linux
Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, DNS)
Familiarity with security monitoring, endpoint protection, or vulnerability tools
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar)
Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001
Experience with endpoint security, IAM, or vulnerability scanning tools
Relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, Azure/AWS Security, or equivalent)
