About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Frontend Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the architectural design, development, and scalability of our frontend systems built with Angular 15+ frameworks. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, backend developers, and QA—to deliver seamless, high-performance features that align with our strategic goals. Your expertise will influence coding standards, best practices, and system architecture to ensure our frontend solutions are maintainable, scalable, and optimized for performance. As a technical leader, you will mentor engineers, promote quality assurance practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across tooling, build pipelines, and developer productivity. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the technical future of ClickUp’s platform while fostering innovation and excellence within the engineering team.
Qualifications
8+ years of professional experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks, specifically Angular 15+.
Deep expertise in state management solutions such as NgRx or Redux.
Strong proficiency in RxJS, scalable front-end application design, and architecture.
Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, accessibility standards, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design principles.
Proven experience making architectural decisions that optimize for scalability, performance, and rapid delivery.
Experience mentoring and leading engineering teams, influencing technical strategies, and elevating engineering standards.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders across engineering, design, and product teams.
Self-motivated with an operational mindset, thriving in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
Responsibilities
Architect and evolve scalable, high-performing frontend systems utilizing Angular 15+ technologies.
Define and enforce standards, patterns, and best practices for reusable components, state management, and system performance.
Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leadership to align technical strategies with business objectives.
Lead initiatives to identify and resolve bottlenecks related to performance, scalability, and developer experience.
Champion testing strategies by influencing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing approaches.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams, promoting best practices and architectural trade-offs.
Drive continuous improvements in tooling, build pipelines, and overall developer productivity.
Coordinate with backend, integrations, QA, and infrastructure teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end solutions.
