About the role
We’re looking for a Fullstack/Backend Developer specializing in APIs and AI integrations to build the next generation of investor workflows.
You will design and implement backend services, RPC endpoints, database structures, and LLM-powered features that help fund managers understand and communicate with LPs.
You’ll work across a modern, strongly-typed monorepo environment (Node.js, TypeScript, Twirp/Protobuf, Postgres/Kysely) and collaborate closely with product and frontend teams.
You’ll have deep ownership, real product influence, and the opportunity to build an industry-defining platform from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
Build new API endpoints and backend services in Node.js/TypeScript
Develop AI-powered investor workflows (summarization, insights, categorization)
Extend internal packages (RPC, utilities) across the monorepo
Design & optimize relational database schemas and queries (Postgres/Kysely)
Write robust unit and integration tests
Improve API performance and scalability
Experiment with AI/LLM integrations to unlock new product capabilities
Collaborate with frontend, product, and infra teams
What You Bring
4+ years backend-focused engineering experience
Strong Node.js + TypeScript fundamentals
Experience building clean, modular, type-safe APIs
Solid SQL + experience with relational databases
Familiarity with monorepos (pnpm, Turborepo)
Interest or experience in AI/LLM development
Strong testing, code quality, and problem-solving skills
Comfort working in a small, fast-paced, async-first senior team
Nice to Have
Experience with Protobuf/Twirp or gRPC
Prior LLM integrations (OpenAI, Claude, etc.)
Familiarity with SvelteKit or modern frontend frameworks
Open-source TypeScript contributions
Understanding of fund management, fintech, or investor workflows
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $100,000–$160,000 CAD, based on value and experience
