Job Title -QA Engineer (Automation, AI & Manual Testing)

About Pillway:

Pillway isn't just a pharmacy, we are a leading healthcare technology company that is fundamentally changing how patients manage their medications. We use cutting-edge technology and a patient-first approach to streamline prescription management, adherence, and delivery. Join our high-impact team in Brampton for this full-time, in-office role and be the guardian of quality for a product that truly makes a difference

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and highly skilled QA Engineer who will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our platform. This role involves merging core automation and manual testing skills with modern, AI-driven QA practices. You will be the quality champion ready to build robust test frameworks, integrate them into CI/CD, and leverage AI/ML to improve everything we do—from test generation to defect prediction.

What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities:

Your main responsibility is ensuring flawless product quality. This includes Automation & Core Testing, where you will design, develop, and maintain scalable, enterprise-grade automation frameworks for Web, Mobile, and API testing using modern tools. You will write, execute, and maintain comprehensive test cases, scenarios, and acceptance criteria, while performing a full spectrum of testing: functional, regression, integration, performance, load, security, and manual exploratory testing for edge cases
In AI & Next-Gen QA, you will actively innovate by leveraging AI/ML tools for test case optimization, automated test data creation, and intelligent defect clustering. You will apply AI-based visual testing and anomaly detection to catch issues before they impact users, and utilize Natural Language Processing (NLP) models for requirement analysis and the automated generation of acceptance criteria.
For CI/CD & DevOps Integration, you will collaborate with DevOps to integrate automated test suites seamlessly into our pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab). You will configure and monitor quality gates (like code coverage and defect leakage) and ensure automated tests run effectively across environments, including containerized execution (Docker/Kubernetes).
Finally, for Collaboration & Process Excellence, you will work closely with Developers and Product Managers in Agile ceremonies to define clear and effective testing strategies. You will manage test environments and synthetic test data, and track, report, and drive the resolution of defects using tools like JIRA or Azure Boards.

What You'll Need: Core Qualifications:

You must have 2–3 years of professional QA experience with a strong background in both manual and automation testing, supported by a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. We require strong hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium) and proficiency in at least one key programming language (Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript). Practical experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured, Karate) is essential, as is familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Preferred Skills (Bonus Points!)

Experience with AI-powered QA platforms, familiarity with performance testing tools (JMeter, Gatling, Locust), and knowledge of AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) for QA innovation are a plus. We also value an understanding of static code analysis and security tools (SonarQube, OWASP ZAP) and relevant QA certifications (ISTQB, AI in Testing, or equivalent).

Why Join Us

As our QA Engineer, you'll ensure flawless quality and reliability for a product that is genuinely revolutionizing medication management at the vital intersection of healthcare and cutting-edge QA technology (Automation, AI/ML).
Accelerate your career in a dynamic, high-growth startup environment with a clear path to senior QA leadership and engineering roles.
You'll gain direct, high-value mentorship from senior product and engineering leaders, working elbow-to-elbow with decision-makers to master the end-to-end product lifecycle and define world-class quality strategies.
This isn't just a job, you'll take full ownership of the platform's quality. Your robust testing and automation efforts will drive real, measurable, and profound impact on our product and mission.
Thrive in a high-energy, collaborative team environment where we champion curiosity, learning, and shared success to fuel innovation.
We recognize your expertise with a highly competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package.
