The Cloud Infrastructure Administrator will play a key role in SickKids IT operations, responsible for designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure with a focus on Microsoft Azure. This role involves designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code practices, integrating with on-premises systems, and driving cloud modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will architect scalable, secure cloud solutions while supporting SickKids's cloud-first strategy.
Here's What You'll Do
Designing, implementing, and delivering core cloud platform infrastructure and services to production, with connectivity to on-premises systems as required
Proactively maintain availability of SickKids's cloud infrastructure and services
Ensure workloads meet infrastructure security and compliance
Disaster recovery planning and regional failover and DR testing for workloads
Creates and manages system documentation, including configurations and backup procedures
Maintains and improve system performance through monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning, designing and running system load/stress testing
Participates in technical design, team review and implementation of new workloads and optimization of existing workloads
Responsible for ensuring solutions deployments completed as per internal standards and customer expectations
Performs system engineering, system management, performance management, capacity management, and change/problem management for cloud environments
Participate in an after-hours On-call rotation to support production Cloud workloads to restore service quickly when incidents occur
Follow process management discipline for change and incident management of all systems managed and acts as a subject matter expert in handling the incidents
Here's What You'll Need
A university degree or college diploma in computer science
2 to 5 years experience in a large-scale, multi-platform, multi-tier processing environment
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or equivalent Azure certification
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, particularly Terraform is preferred (HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate is an asset)
Knowledge of ITIL Framework required. ITIL V4 Foundations Certification is an asset
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (required); experience with GCP is an asset

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent. Available for after hours work (morning and evening) for scheduled and unscheduled events & emergency 24/7 support on rotating basis with other engineers & systems analysts.
