Founding Data Engineer

Up to £145k per year + meaningful equity

Oliver Bernard is partnering with a high-growth AI startup building an AI-native platform for universities, starting with one anchor institution and scaling globally.

The core challenge is data: fragmented systems, inconsistent schemas, heavy regulation, and slow onboarding. This role owns building the data foundations that make scale possible.

What you’ll do

Build ingestion pipelines across SIS, LMS, CRM, and document systems
Design equivalency layers to abstract institutional differences
Create scalable, compliance-aware data foundations
Prepare data for AI-native discovery, search, and agentic workflows
Work directly with CIOs and institutional data teams

What we’re looking for

Strong data or platform engineering background
Proven experience in messy, real-world data environments
Hands-on ownership of ingestion and architecture
Experience in regulated domains (edu, healthcare, govtech, fintech)
