Job Specifications

Position: Open Source Applied Engineer

Type: Hourly contract

Compensation: $100–$160 per hour

Location: Remote

Commitment: Part-time, flexible hours

Role Responsibilities

Design and oversee evaluations for coding tasks across multiple programming languages
Develop robust test cases to assess system performance in diverse engineering scenarios
Analyze system behavior on real-world use cases to identify strengths and improvement areas
Communicate evaluation findings clearly to research teams to support optimization
Contribute expertise to improve scalability, performance, and code quality

Requirements

Strong experience contributing to open-source projects with a consistent, high-quality contribution record
Strong experience with one or more programming languages including Python, Java, C, JavaScript, or TypeScript
Strong familiarity with widely used libraries, frameworks, and development tools
Strong understanding of software architecture, performance tuning, and scalable design patterns
Strong experience using Git, CI/CD systems, and open-source collaboration workflows
Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in distributed, asynchronous teams
