Team Overview
The Global Markets Pre-Trade IT team delivers reliable, high-performance technology solutions supporting Global Macro (Rates & FX), Equities, Securities Lending, and Credit businesses. The team partners closely with front-office stakeholders and is involved across the full SDLC — from requirements gathering through implementation and production support — operating within an Agile delivery model.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support algorithmic trading and real-time trading applications within Global Markets. This role sits at the intersection of front-office trading desks, technology, and global delivery teams, translating business needs into detailed functional requirements while supporting data-driven trading and execution workflows.
The ideal candidate brings strong capital markets knowledge, hands-on experience with pre-trade and execution platforms, and the ability to work directly with traders and developers in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Requirements
Partner with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze requirements for algorithmic trading systems and real-time trading applications
Develop and maintain functional specifications, user stories, and use cases to guide development teams
Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
Trading & Market Support
Support Global Securities Financing and Equities trading workflows
Conduct data analysis to support trading strategies and decision-making
Work with FIX messages, execution workflows, and pre-trade controls
Delivery & Stakeholder Management
Act as a liaison between trading desks, technology teams, and global stakeholders
Facilitate clear communication to ensure alignment on scope, priorities, and deliverables
Collaborate with international teams to support global initiatives
Testing & Production Support
Participate in UAT, testing, and validation of new features and enhancements
Ensure delivered solutions align with documented business requirements
Provide ongoing user support and training assistance as needed
Required Skills & Experience
Professional Experience
5–9 years of experience as a Business Analyst within financial services
Strong experience supporting algorithmic trading and real-time trading systems
Solid understanding of Equities and Global Securities Financing markets
Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
Technical & Functional Skills
Experience with trading and execution platforms such as Fidessa, Bloomberg EMSX, ION, Horizon Trading Solutions, Dash, or similar systems
Proficiency with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel)
Strong understanding of FIX messaging
Ability to translate complex trading workflows into clear technical documentation
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
Comfortable working directly with front-office trading desks
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field
