Job Title: Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Senior SDET)

Location: London (3 days onsite minimum)

Contract Length: 6 months – initial

Rate: negotiable

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our client’s team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on technical environment and is eager to shape the future of automated testing for embedded and connected device platforms. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle and contribute to the evolution of testing frameworks and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Design and maintain scalable, reusable automated test frameworks and tools.
Collaborate with engineers to define testable architectures and drive quality through code.
Develop and execute advanced test strategies for Android, Linux, and IoT platforms.
Create comprehensive test plans for APIs (REST, IPC), WebUI, and OTA updates.
Enhance CI/CD pipelines with automated quality gates and documentation.

Skills & Experience

Strong coding skills in Python, Java, or similar languages for test automation.
Experience with tools like Selenium, Appium, Espresso, and manual test management systems.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
Proven background in testing device OS (Android/Linux), APIs, and connected interfaces.
Beneficial: Experience in medical device software, video protocol testing, and regulatory standards (e.g., IEC 62304).
