A globally leading consumer device company based in Culver City, CA is looking for a Software Engineer who will build the tooling infrastructure that powers their sensing algorithm development. You’ll work on top of core organizational frameworks to create customized plugins, libraries, and tools that enable algorithm developers to prototype, validate, and deploy efficiently. This is a critical platform engineering role where your code will be used daily by multiple developers on the team.

Job Responsibilities:

- Develop plugins and extensions for core Python DAG and distributed computing frameworks, customizing them for sensing algorithm workflows

- Build new Python tools and libraries from scratch when core tooling doesn’t meet specific project needs

- Design intuitive APIs that abstract complexity and provide excellent developer experience for algorithm engineers

- Create reusable repository structures, templates, and scaffolding that enable developers to quickly set up new algorithm projects

- Build dashboard plugins that extend core visualization libraries, deploying them alongside flow code for algorithm metrics and monitoring

- Write comprehensive unit tests for all library code and support CI/CD infrastructure

- Document tools and APIs for self-service adoption, enabling developers to onboard independently

- Manage library versioning and backwards compatibility as tools evolve and teams adopt different versions

- Quickly learn and extend company’s data processing frameworks and internal APIs

Candidate Requirements: Ability to design and build production-grade tooling
Strong focus on developer experience and usability
Solid foundation in Python library development
Experience with distributed processing systems
Familiarity with C++ is a strong plus

Type: Contract

Duration: 8 months with extension

Work Location: Culver City, CA (hybrid)

Pay range: $ 109.00 - $ 124.00 ph (DOE)
