Summary

Seeking a Java/Spring Developer who will be a part of our Property & Casualty (P&C) Services Team who manages a critical backend platform that handles insurance certificates and workflows. You will be responsible for implementing service changes and enhancements using Java and the Spring Framework in a quiet, technical environment that values high-quality, independent work.

Role

Independently implement service changes, technical enhancements, and updates.
Build and maintain robust RESTful services and manage data interactions with SQL Server.
Quickly learn P&C Services workflows and ensure technical solutions align with insurance industry requirements.
Partner with a small team of six on technical design and complex troubleshooting while maintaining high productivity during siloed work blocks.
Deliver high-quality, scalable code in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Five or more years of professional Java development experience with expert-level Spring Boot.

Required

Extensive experience with JSON and REST APIs.
Strong proficiency with SQL Server.
Solid understanding of P&C (Property & Casualty) insurance terminology and coverages is a requirement. (e.g., understanding ACORD forms, certificates, and insurance workflows).

Preferred

Familiarity with IBM/FWA workflow or form construction.
Understanding of how backend Java services interact with low-code platforms.
Experience with ServiceNow or RPA (Robotic Process Automation) environments.

Details

Location: Remote
Term: Initial engagement planned through June 1, with high likelihood of continuing through all of 2026 or longer.
Employment Type: W2
Rate: $65 - $70 per hour
