Title: Senior Backend Java Developer (with UI exposure)

Location: Greater Holyoke Area, MA (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)

About the Role

Join a high-impact engineering team responsible for building and supporting enterprise-grade applications used in a mission-critical environment. This role focuses on backend-heavy Java development with exposure to frontend components and cloud-based integrations.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Java 17/21 applications using Spring (MVC / Spring Boot)
Build and support RESTful APIs and microservices-based solutions
Develop and optimize Oracle SQL queries, schemas, and high-volume tables
Implement messaging and integration workflows using Apache Camel, JMS, ActiveMQ
Collaborate with frontend developers on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, AJAX components
Write and maintain unit tests using JUnit and Mockito

Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with Java 17/21 and Spring Framework
Solid background in Oracle database development and SQL performance tuning
Experience with AWS services (ECS, S3, SQS preferred)
Understanding of microservices architecture and enterprise integrations
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and Spring Batch is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Compensation (MA Pay Transparency)

Estimated hourly range: $60–$65/hr (W-2)
Final rate within this range will be based on skills, experience, and interview results.
