Title - Lead Java Engineer - Data Streaming

Location - Long Island City, NY | Hybrid Opportunity (Locals)

Duration- 6+ Months Contract on W2

Rate- $60/hr

Job Description

• 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience, with a strong focus on real-time data processing.

.Super strong SQL and python skills (live assessment for each)

• Proven experience with Azure Event Hub or similar streaming platforms.

• Expertise in deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes environments.

• Strong knowledge of NoSQL databases, especially Azure Cosmos DB, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.

• Experience in production support, including performance tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Ability to write resilient, self-monitoring code for production-grade systems.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset.

• Experience with cloud-native development in Azure.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced Java applications for real-time message processing.

• Build and maintain streaming data solutions using Azure Event Hub (similar to Kafka).

• Architect and implement scalable microservices deployed in Kubernetes, with auto-scaling capabilities.

• Integrate with NoSQL data stores such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, and preferably Azure Cosmos DB.

• Apply advanced concepts in NoSQL data modeling and query optimization.

• Ensure production readiness by embedding CPU monitoring, logging, and self-healing mechanisms directly into application code.

• Lead production support efforts, with deep understanding of operational workflows and incident resolution.

• Collaborate with data engineers, DevOps, and cloud architects to ensure seamless integration and performance.
