Role Purpose:

Our four-week paid internship, commencing on Monday 22nd June and concluding on Friday 17th July, provides an enriching blend of learning and hands-on experience, offering a fantastic opportunity to explore the world of real estate. It’s designed to give you a taste of professional life and a head start on your career.

Whether you’re studying for a Building Surveying degree or pursuing another discipline but have a strong interest in property, this internship is an excellent opportunity to explore commercial real estate and determine if the industry and our company is the right fit for you. Exceptional performance during the internship may result in an offer to join a future graduate scheme at the location where you complete your internship.

During the programme, you’ll gain hands-on experience by working on diverse projects, developing essential business skills, and learning how to provide expert advice to clients. You’ll also attend client meetings, go on site visits, and collaborate with your intern cohort to expand your professional network.

What Does a Career in Commercial Real Estate Look Like?

A career in Building Consultancy is varied and impactful, encompassing a range of services that shape the built environment. At Cushman & Wakefield, we advise the world’s leading investors, developers, and occupiers on how to own, occupy, and manage real estate.

As a Building Surveyor, your role involves assessing the quality of buildings and identifying areas for improvement. This includes advising on repairs, maintenance, and restoration, as well as being involved in the development and enhancement of both new and existing buildings.

The Programme:

As a Cushman & Wakefield intern, you’ll be a valued member of the team from day one, contributing your unique perspectives and ideas. You’ll gain firsthand experience of working in commercial real estate, develop new skills, and deepen your understanding of the industry through meaningful project work.

You’ll also have access to our Global Internship Programme, connecting you with hundreds of interns worldwide. This programme includes expert-led sessions, discussion panels, and Q&A opportunities with senior leaders to help you understand what a career at Cushman & Wakefield entails. Additionally, you’ll participate in networking and training sessions throughout your internship to further enrich your experience.

What We Expect From You:

We welcome applications from students of all academic backgrounds. Above all, we’re looking for enthusiasm and passion for commercial real estate. Successful interns typically demonstrate the following qualities:

Strong self-motivation and commitment
A proactive approach to work
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Curiosity and eagerness to learn
Problem-solving and analytical abilities
Clear communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

Eligibility:

Our Building Surveying Internship Programme is open to students from all degree disciplines, as we value transferable skills from a variety of fields. You do not need to be enrolled in a Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited course-what matters most is your interest and enthusiasm for commercial real estate. However, you must meet the following criteria:

Expected 2:1 undergraduate degree classification
Be in your penultimate year of study. (Please indicate on your application form if you are a final year graduate but booked onto or planning to complete a Master’s next academic year).
Achieved a Grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and early applications are strongly encouraged. We reserve the right to close the job posting before the deadline depending on the volume of applications received.

We foster a culture of inclusion that embraces the unique strengths, perspectives, and experiences of all our employees. We firmly believe that our diversity enhances our team's capabilities, leading to improved decision-making, innovation, and business outcomes. If you have any reservations about applying, please don't hesitate to reach out to your local recruiter for additional information
