Freelance Vulnerability Engineer – Brussels (Hybrid)

Start: ASAP | Duration: 6 months (extendable)

We’re supporting a major organisation in Brussels seeking an experienced Vulnerability Engineer to strengthen their Microsoft server and cloud security operations. This freelance mission sits within the Infrastructure team and focuses on improving security, compliance, and resilience across hybrid environments.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct vulnerability scanning, assessment, and remediation across Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure, M365, and other platforms.
Analyse reports, prioritise risks, and coordinate remediation with internal teams.
Support security operations, incident response, patching, and secure configuration.
Contribute to cloud and infrastructure modernization projects.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards (GDPR, DORA).

Required Skills

5+ years’ experience in Microsoft server infrastructure & security.
Strong background in vulnerability management and remediation.
Deep knowledge of Windows Server, AD, EntraID, ADFS, DNS/DHCP, hybrid environments.
Experience with Azure/M365 security tools, scripting (PowerShell/Azure CLI), and ITSM (ServiceNow).
Fluent in French or Dutch, with professional English.
