Our client, a leading investment firm, is seeking an EDM Developer to join their team!
Responsibilities
EDM Platform Development & Engineering
Design, configure, and enhance S&P EDM workflows, including import/export processes, validation rules, enrichment logic, approvals, and golden copy creation.
Build and maintain Security Master, Pricing, Reference Data, Positions, Trades, Counterparty and other investment data feeds.
Develop and optimize workflow templates (UIBs, XSLTs, Business Rules) to support evolving business and regulatory needs.
Implement automated data quality checks, schema validations, exception handling, and enrichment routines.
Data Integration & ETL
Engineer data pipelines integrating EDM with order management systems (e.g., Charles River, Bloomberg AIM, Aladdin), pricing vendors, internal databases, analytics platforms, and downstream risk systems.
Build robust ETL processes using SQL, Python, SSIS, or similar data engineering tools.
Collaborate with Architecture teams to modernize the data ecosystem (cloud migration, API-based integrations, schema redesign).
Data Governance & Quality
Apply best practices for data lineage, metadata management, stewardship workflows, and enterprise data governance.
Manage EDM exception queues, troubleshoot breaks, and drive root-cause resolution with business and technical stakeholders.
Partner with Data Governance, Performance, Risk, and Operations teams to ensure high-quality, reliable investment data delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with Fixed Income Portfolio Managers, Traders, Risk, Compliance, and Ops to understand data needs and translate them into scalable EDM solutions.
Act as a subject matter expert for S&P EDM, advising on platform capabilities, workflow design, and best practices.
Support change management, release processes, and deployment cycles in coordination with DevOps/Cloud teams.
Qualifications
5–10+ years of experience in Data Engineering or EDM development within Asset Management, Hedge Funds, or Investment Banking.
3+ years hands-on experience with S&P Global EDM/Markit EDM (configurations, workflows, UIBs, business rules).
Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational data models used in investment management.
Experience with ETL/ELT tooling: SSIS, Informatica, Python, Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar.
Deep understanding of Fixed Income instruments, pricing, reference data, and downstream reporting/risk processes.
Experience integrating EDM with OMS, Pricing Services, Risk Engines, and Back Office platforms.
Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills; comfort engaging with Front Office and Operations stakeholders.
