Scope

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of freight across U.S.–Canada borders to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective delivery. This role supports daily transportation operations within a distribution network, managing carrier relationships, shipment documentation, and customs compliance while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and service.

Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinate and schedule daily cross-border shipments (LTL, TL, and parcel) between the U.S. and Canada, as well as some moves between the U.S. and Mexico
Prepare and validate all necessary shipping and customs documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading (BOLs), 7512 entries, and other related records
Communicate with carriers, customs brokers, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth border clearance and on-time delivery
Track and trace shipments, proactively resolve any transit or customs delays, and update stakeholders on shipment status
Maintain compliance with CBSA and CBP regulations, ensuring all documentation aligns with import and export requirements
Support freight cost management by reviewing carrier invoices, auditing freight bills, and reporting variances
Assist with carrier performance reviews, KPI tracking, and service-level evaluations
Collaborate with internal departments (Sales, Purchasing, Operations, and Finance) to ensure shipping accuracy and operational efficiency
Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities in cross-border and domestic logistics
Support the implementation of TMS or ERP transportation modules, ensuring data integrity and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Skills & Qualifications

College diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in logistics or transportation coordination (cross-border experience preferred)
Proficient in Microsoft applications
Familiarity with customs clearance processes, HS codes, and documentation standards
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform under time-sensitive conditions
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a service-oriented approach
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of Incoterms and import/export regulations is considered an asset
Certification through CITT, CIFFA, or CSCMP is considered an asset
